My Yoshi Story
I first met Yoshi in 2008 through a copy of Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games. I took a liking to Yoshi, and I really resonate with his character traits: friendly, loyal, cute and cuddly!
He's been my favourite character ever since, and I may have a bit of an addiction with collecting merchandise of him...
I used to call Yoshi's egg Yoko in Super Mario 64DS, so my head-cannon is that the egg is called Yoko.
I was so excited for Yoshi's Woolly World when it came out, and it is my favourite game of all time! The music was the best part of it, because each track was diverse and exciting!

It is with a heavy heart, as a Yoshi fan, that I must declare that I WILL NOT be collecting the newest title in the Yoshi series, 'Yoshi and the Mysterious Book' exclusively for the Switch 2.
I no longer support Nintendo's business model.
If I do not own a physical item of a game that I bought for $90AUD, and my save data does not save to the physical cartridge, and I cannot play the game without internet access (that I have to pay $60AUD per year for), then I will not buy the game because I do not own it.
As it is, a Switch 2 costs $700AUD, $60AUD for a camera, $70AUD for a microphone, and $140AUD per pair of Joycons if they get drift, and $100AUD per game.
The total cost of a Switch 2 in Australia is over $1000 AUD, and I simply cannot justify spending that much on a gaming console in today's economy.
What's crazy to think about is that just over 20 years ago (in 2004), all these features were built into the console and were completely free on the DS worth $200AUD.
It has been a good run, and until Nintendo stops with this unhinged business, I will be happily collecting older titles in the series.
Yours truly, YoshiFan.
